21 year old Ben Tackett rides shotgun in Matty Ackerman's minivan.
They're driving to a remote lakeside cabin for a night of intimacy; planned over the past week via texts.
Ben is a lonely yet perceptive small town chipmunk who is finally comfortable with his sexuality.
Matty is an extroverted, witty black bear from the Twin Cities.
He's also the vocalist and rhythm guitarist in a hardcore band that Ben is a fan of.
They can't wait to finally spend time together in person.
They even brought all their personal baggage along.
They don't realize it.
WALLS is a short, small-scale story about love, the mistakes we make and the people we push away when we seek it, as well as the importance of taking responsibility for yourself.
Inspired by Low's early discography, Gregg Araki's films, alternate guitar tunings, and the beauty of Duluth, Minnesota.
Made as an entry for the NovemBear 2024 Furry Visual Novel Jam.

This was a very good story! Two guys go to a cabin in the woods for a hookup. And then…
SPOILERS
With the presentation I was fully expecting a horror story.And it technically is, but not in the way I was expecting.
The fact that Ben ends up in the middle of a big after-breakup mess after being lied to is so awful.
Where’s the monster? The monster is the friends we made along the way.
All this drama being so grounded and the way it was written kept me hooked.
Regret waiting so long to get to this one, fantastic work.
Well-executed, can't say much else without spoiling.
